Driving down a never ending winding road in the morning heat of the West Australian outback, Officers are searching but have no idea what they’ll find. Dried and arid, the dirt of the outback is like a fine talcom powder that invades everywhere.
The Officers have been told to be on the lookout for a couple in a car on the side of the track. They’ve no further information than that, so they have no idea if there’s been a breakdown, a crash or if the driver has just run out of petrol.
Further down this winding track, they find an old Holden sitting at an angle in a ditch and there’s no one inside. The Officers are hoping that when they get to the car they may be able to find footprints in the sandy dirt, but the wind rustling amongst the scrub has removed any trace that anyone had ever been there.
They try to contact their station but there’s no signal.
Whilst one Officer stays with the car continuing to try to make contact, the other Officer braves the scrub in search, but he’s forgotten that in many parts of outback Western Australia, there are many holes and shafts where people have been digging, searching and seeking gold.
No sooner has the Officer in the car attained a signal, he suddenly realises he is all alone.
